BOSTON PIZZA INTERNATIONAL INC. ANNOUNCES STEPHEN PLUNKETT AS
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT FOR WESTERN CANADA

 VANCOUVER, BC, (October 26, 2006) - Boston Pizza International Inc. ("BPI") announced today that Stephen Plunkett has been promoted to Executive Vice President- Western Canada effective December 1^st, 2006.  Mr. Plunkett joined the company in 1997 as National Marketing Manager and currently leads BPI's marketing and promotions departments as Vice President, Marketing. In his new role, Mr. Plunkett will oversee the operations, marketing and franchise development functions for BPI's largest regional business unit with over 165 restaurants currently open in western Canada.

Stephen Plunkett will replace Doug MacDonald who has accepted the position of President with BPI's affiliate in the United States, Boston Pizza Restaurants, LP.

BPI is a privately held company and licensee of the Boston Pizza trade marks from the Boston Pizza Royalties Limited Partnership ("BPRLP"). BPI currently holds a 20% interest in the Boston Pizza Royalties Income Fund (the "Fund") indirectly through its interest in BPRLP.  BPI has agreed to retain a minimum 20% interest at least until such time as there are 275 restaurants in the Royalty Pool.
