Mark Pacinda promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Fund and BPI

VANCOUVER, BC, June 29, 2011 - Boston Pizza Royalties Income Fund (the “Fund” TSX: BPF.UN) and Boston Pizza International Inc. (“BPI”) announced today that Mark Pacinda will be appointed to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of BPI effective July 1, 2011. In conjunction with this promotion, Mr. Pacinda will also become a Director and the CEO of Boston Pizza GP Inc., Managing General Partner of Boston Pizza Royalties Limited Partnership (“BPRLP”), administrator of the Fund, replacing BPI Chairman and Owner George Melville in that role.

Mark Pacinda joined BPI in 1997 and has held several senior roles within the organization including Executive Vice President, President and Chief Operating Officer. He has also been a Director of the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association since 2005. Prior to joining BPI, Mr. Pacinda was President of Arby’s International, where he was responsible for the company’s operations in 12 countries worldwide. He also held several senior management positions with Pepsi Co., including Chief Financial Officer for the South Pacific region.

“Mark has made significant contributions during his 14 years with Boston Pizza including establishing our corporate office in Ontario, expanding operations into Quebec and helping to double the number of full service Boston Pizza restaurants in Canada during that time. As the operating head of BPI over the last few years, Mark has worked closely with the Fund and its trustees and we feel that the time is right to formalize that relationship by promoting him to CEO of both BPI and the Fund” said BPI Chairman and Owner, George Melville.

BPI also announced that Ken Otto will be promoted to Chief Operating Officer and that Wes Bews will be promoted to Chief Financial Officer, both effective on July 1, 2011. Mr. Otto has been with BPI for seven years and most recently served as EVP, Operations. He previously held senior positions with another large Canadian restaurant operator and has over 20 years of industry experience. In his new role, Mr. Otto will assume additional responsibility for foodservices and business development. Mr. Bews has been with BPI for three years and most recently served as VP, Finance and CFO (interim). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1996. Mr. Bews has over 15 years of experience in various senior level accounting and finance roles with public and private companies. He will continue to act as a Director of Boston Pizza GP Inc. and will become the CFO of Boston Pizza GP Inc. effective July 1, 2011.

“We are very pleased to announce these promotions within our executive team at Boston Pizza. Mark, Ken and Wes have demonstrated strong leadership in their previous roles at BPI and we are confident that their future contributions, along with those of fellow senior team members Stephen Plunkett, EVP Communications and Technology and Steve Silverstone, EVP Marketing, will further strengthen Boston Pizza’s position as Canada’s #1 casual dining brand” said BPI Chairman and Owner, Jim Treliving.

BPI currently holds a 16% interest in the Fund indirectly through its interest in BPRLP.
