Boston Pizza Royalties Income Fund Announces the Appointment of W. Murray Sadler, LLD (Hon) Q.C. to the Board of Trustees

BOSTON PIZZA ROYALTIES INCOME FUND ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF W. MURRAY SADLER, LLD (HON) Q.C. TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

VANCOUVER, BC, June 16, 2008 - Boston Pizza Royalties Income Fund (the "Fund") (TSX: BPF.UN) announced today the appointment of W. Murray Sadler, LLD (Hon) Q.C. to the Board of Trustees of the Fund effective June 10, 2008.  Mr. Sadler is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, (B.A. 63, LLB 66).  He has practised law as a corporate and commercial lawyer since his call to the Bar in 1967 and has extensive experience with complex commercial transactions.  He is a founding partner of Heather Sadler Jenkins LLP and was its managing partner until recently.  He was a founder of the University of Northern British Columbia, President of the Interior University Society and Chair of the Interim Governing Counsel during the construction and start-up phase of the University.  He currently serves as a Director of the Provincial Health Services Authority and continues to practise law.

The Fund further announced the departure of Robert L. Phillips as Trustee of the Fund effective June 10, 2008.  Mr. Phillips has been a Trustee of the Fund since its inception in July 2002.  Throughout his term, he has brought a wealth of knowledge to the Fund, its Unitholders and Boston Pizza International Inc ("BPI").  The Trustees of the Fund and the management of BPI wish to thank Mr. Phillips for the invaluable service he has provided.

The Fund is a limited purpose, open-ended trust established under the laws of British Columbia to acquire indirectly certain trade marks and trade names used by BPI in Boston Pizza restaurants in Canada.  The trade marks are licensed to BPI for 99 years for which BPI pays the Fund 4% of franchise revenues of the 299 Boston Pizza restaurants in Canada as at June 16, 2008. 

The trustees of the Fund have approved the contents of this news release.
